About the role
Our People and Culture team is growing with a new opportunity available for a Learning and Development Specialistto join us in Brisbane. Reporting to our Organisational Development Manager, you will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of effective learning programs and initiatives that support employee development, engagement and workforce culture.
Many of these programs are in their early development phases so we are looking for someone who knows what good looks like to help us to refine, refresh and mature our L&D offerings.
In your role you will design, develop and implement initiatives that:
- Enhance the induction and onboarding process of employees.
- Elevate leadership and soft-skill capabilities.
- Support technical competency development (incl. traineeships, compliance, career development opportunities).
- Support career development and enhance employee engagement.
A core element of this role will be to partner closely with our Field-based Operations to support their competency management and development, therefore regular travel to the Surat Basin (Roma and Wandoan) will be required (approx. 1 week per month).
This role is a permanent, full-time opportunity however for candidates interested in a short-term contract to assist us while we recruit the role permanently, please select your preference when completing your job application.
About You
We're on the lookout for individuals with a degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Education, or a related field (ideally), who are passionate about making a difference through training and development. If you also happen to have a Certificate IV Training & Assessment under your belt, that's a definite plus!
If you enjoy the full end to end process of capturing requirements, designing initiatives and then delivering them yourself then this role has great breadth and a variety of projects for you to sink your teeth into. You will get to see first hand the value that you are bringing to the business and our people. If you are a natural when it comes to building strong relationships at all levels of the business, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and thrive in collaborative environments, we want to hear from you!
Proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite is essential for this role. Experience with Learning Management Systems (ideally Success Factors) and instructional design models and tools (and ideally experience using Articulate to develop e-learning content), will set you apart from the crowd.
If you have a background in the natural gas, resources, or heavy industry sectors, and possess knowledge of industry regulations and safety protocols, we're particularly interested in speaking with you. Don't let it stop you from applying though if you haven't worked in these industries.
