We are looking for a Learning Specialist to represent Capability Development as a catalyst for learning culture, trusted professional for learning solutions and builder of leadership capability.

Reporting to the Superintendent Capability Development and working in a collaborative community, you will:

  • Support with the implementation of a cascaded capability development strategy to drive operational performance through uplifting capability.
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders to diagnose learning opportunities and leverage expertise in capability development to develop bespoke solutions.
  • Act as a conduit between leadership teams and the centralised Learning Excellence Team to enable the creation of standardised training materials and learning assets.
  • Support the business with maintaining compliance through conducting learning needs analysis and engaging with the Learning Excellence Team to ensure learning profiles reflect these requirements.
  • Within small high performing teams, you will conduct analysis to determine potential solutions to specific learning problems
  • Partner with internal customers to ensure strong collaboration and build lasting relationships with the business
  • Develop and present analysis findings that will deliver sustainable short and long-term capability outcomes for the business
  • Create clear and impactful communications pertaining to workforce capability with limited direct oversight
  • Drive standardisation of training experience and quality across site and other areas of assigned responsibility including the submission of Learning Management Framework (LMF) Quality Assurance (QA) request forms for documentation updates and additions.
  • Partner with HRBPs while building and executing the people-planning and talent development strategy across the respective portfolio and site.
  • Develop and assess metrics to verify the positive influence of CD’s services on business performance
  • Provide feedback to the Learning Excellence Team to improve quality and impact of learning interventions.
  • Prioritise daily and weekly BAU tasks effectively to optimise capacity and deliver value as a trusted learning professionals.
  • Manage workloads and relationships with internal site leaders, new starters and external stakeholders.
  • Support site based training personnel (where appropriate) in identifying and evaluating the site capability needs and weekly training schedule.
  • Support training superintendents with early identification and effective methods to pivot on agreed training strategies.

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise critical thinking and challenge pre-established conceptions held about capability development and processes.
  • Experience in conducting analysis, ensuring accurate and updated data from varying sources and interpreting complex results to find key opportunities.
  • Dynamic and adaptable individual who can operate in ambiguous environments
  • Current knowledge of adult learning principles, learning theories and ability to apply appropriately
  • In-depth understanding of Capability Development processes, function, strategies and LMF
  • Understanding of Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) and Language literacy numeracy (LLN) in context of Vocational competency workplace training and assessments
  • A passion for developing and empowering people with strong influence and coaching skills through face to face and virtual platforms
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, including written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelors Degree and/or Cert IV Training and Education (TAE) would be highly advantageous.
