Job Description
The Learning Support Coordinator works closely with the Head of Campus and Learning Support Staff in coordinating student learning needs and monitoring academic achievement through assessments and recommendations regarding quality teaching practice.
Specific responsibilities include:
– Liaise with the Head of Campus and Learning Support Staff on issues concerning student learning needs;
– Monitor academic achievement through whole school assessment (YP on individual basis as required); present data to the teachers and make recommendations to inform quality teaching practice;
– Support/advise HOC with students who are academically at risk. (Eg. With attendance plans, school success plans);
– Lead Learning Support staff to conduct educational assessments, use the data to inform future practices ad share results with Class Teachers and HOCs to support future improvement through disciplined dialogue;
– Lead Learning Support team meetings and provide opportunities for additional training to Learning Support Staff;
– Support and evaluate the development of Learning Support teaching programs and their implementation;
– Lead Learning Support staff to maintain student records and samples of work;
– Ensure that Learning Support Teachers and Learning Support Assistants are familiar with their roles and the differences;
– Guide Learning support team to advise the HOCs on disability provisions for NAPLAN;
– Monitor and support class teachers with Maths Pathways, Spelling Mastery and PM readers;
– Ensure the workplace is free from sexual harassment and does not engage in any behaviour that puts the health and safety of another employee at risk.
Desired Skills and Experience
– This position requires a degree and applicable teaching qualifications and relevant experience. University transcripts and NESA accreditation details must be provided.
– Proficient NESA accreditation required.
– Demonstrated experience in leading teams.
– Demonstrated experience in Learning Support.
