The Learning Support Officer supports the teacher in meeting the needs of students.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- a strong commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education
- an understanding of, and commitment to, child safety
- the ability to build positive relationships with all students and positive partnerships which welcome and engage families and the wider community
- an understanding of learning and teaching in an EAL community
Responsibilities:
- Work with teachers in programs for students with additional needs under the direction of the Learning Diversity Leader
- Meet regularly with the Learning Diversity Leader to discuss student needs, progress and program provision
- Work with students on a one to one, small group and/or whole class basis
- Liaise with teachers to develop and evaluate the goals and strategies of student Personalised Learning Plans
- Contribute to Parent Support Group meetings with the Learning Diversity Leader and teacher/s in relation to student needs, goals and support
- Provide input for student progress reports as required
- Assist with transition programs and processes
- Provide information for submissions on a needs basis, including NCCD
- Maintain student files
- Attend professional learning opportunities when applicable
