About the OPPORTUNITY
The Commercial team are looking for their next Legal Advisor (Graduate role) to assist with contract management and commercial requirements for our Projects. Our clients are medium to large scale Local, National and Global Corporations - contract values range from $100 - $500mil.
Reporting to our Chief Commercial Officer and working in concert with our Senior Executives, Project Management teams, liaising with external legal firms, and attending meetings with clients, suppliers and legal counsel.
This role is responsible for providing specialist contractual support for contracts, focusing on the commercial, legal and services related elements of each contract and various supply and service agreements. They will assist to minimise risk and ensure commercial viability of the contracts/agreements.
The main focus of this in-house role is:
- Managing the Contracts ensuring compliance within the existing structure
- Monitoring and reporting on all contractual requirements, for example contract expiry, renewals and deliverables
- Support in the preparation of draft commercial and contractual documentation
- Reviewing contracts
- Managing and drafting risk and compliance related correspondence
- Provide subject matter expertise in contract management practices, including best practice commercial/risk policies and procedures and applicable changes in legislative and regulatory requirements
- Create and work on large data sets, establish excel spreadsheets to be used for the analysis of large volumes of information relating to works carried out on project sites
- Perform high level analysis of data sets and provide summary reports
- Assess and report on financial risks
Skills and experience
About You;
- Ideally Graduates will have graduated in 2022 or 2023/24 years
- Career focus ideally to work in commercial, construction or contract law and risk management.
- Ability to work on and acquire knowledge and understanding to review and draft contracts.
- Interest and ability to develop strong compliance and risk expertise.
- Ability to deal with a diverse range of people and at the same time work in a team environment.
- Able to interact with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders and clients.
- Strong communication skills with a creative and analytical mindset.
