How will you contribute to ensuring access to justice for all?
Join our Perth Abuse Law team as Legal Assistant with a full-time permanent opportunity. This is a great opportunity for someone willing to grow and develop their skills in a busy role whilst bringing their strong client focus and administration expertise to the role.
In the role, you will work with a team of Specialised Lawyers to assist survivors of abuse gain damages and to support our clients. You will answer and manage incoming calls, diary management, liaising with clients, file management and providing day-to-day administrative support.
Due to the nature of the practice, there will at times be exposure to challenging material. We look after our people with ongoing support and access to an external psychologist as well as market leading and award winning internal vicarious trauma training. This is also to assist our people in providing the best legal support possible to our clients.
Key responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with clients, providing assistance with enquiries and proactively seeking information where appropriate
- Documentation management, including proof reading, producing accurate file notes, filing and monitoring for further action
- Work collaboratively with team members, sharing knowledge, supporting and contributing constructively.
- Produce client correspondence and prepare court documents as requested
- Assist with obtaining legal and medical reports and documents whilst building relationships with external stakeholders such as Medicolegal experts and Barristers
- Arrange and manage diaries, appointments and meetings
The experience we are looking for
You pride yourself of your superior organisational and time management skills with the ability to juggle conflicting priorities. You have a unique ability to communicate effectively with clients, adapting your style to effectively manage expectations whilst maintaining your resilient nature and your passion for supporting our clients. In addition, you will have:
- Previous experience working as a Legal Assistant or a strong administration background;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills; and
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
