The Role 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant in our busy Melbourne Family Law practice. 

Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Preparing legal documents and letters;
  • Diary management;
  • Dictaphone typing;
  • Answering phones and liaising with clients;
  • Archiving;
  • Billing/managing trust and office receipts, etc;
  • Coordinating team meetings/events;
  • File management/paralegal work (including liaison with clients, barristers, courts etc); and
  • General administrative duties.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience as a Legal Assistant in a Family Law practice, or alternatively, litigation experience will be considered. Excellent communication and diary management skills, with a client service focus are essential, as well as the ability to work in a team and follow directions. You will be proficient in MS Word and formatting, as well good experience in Dictaphone typing. You will have the ability to prioritise tasks, display initiative, have good attention to detail and a proven history of meeting deadlines. 

The position involves working with two senior lawyers who are accredited Family Law specialists with busy practices and is a great opportunity for someone looking for a senior role in a fun, fast-paced team environment.
