The Role:
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide legal services to various divisions of Sunwater. You will provide strategic, high quality, solutions-focussed legal advice in all areas relevant to the Sunwater business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Proactively pursuing legal risk management and actively pursue the close of matters.
- Early involvement in matters and being an active and valued member of multi-disciplinary teams within Sunwater.
- Prioritising and managing workload and meet deadlines in line with the business’ agreed priorities.
- Gaining the support of business partners on legal matters.
- Building effective long-term relationships with all stakeholders that add value to Sunwater.
- Using appropriate methods, skills and styles to move others toward recommended outcomes.
- Bringing thought leadership to the role in order to drive continuous improvement and a sustainable business environment for Sunwater, its customers and the wider community.
- Positively promote and actively role model the Sunwater values and behaviours to support the delivery of our services.
About you:
Holding admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland with an unrestricted practising certificate (at least 3 years PAE), you’ll join us with demonstrated technical skills 2 or more of the following legal disciplines:
- projects;
- delivery of infrastructure projects, including construction and procurement delivery models and contracts (including Australian Standard documentation and QITC);
- property; or
- complex commercial contracts.
You will be passionate about creating positive stakeholder experiences and have a demonstrated capability in building strong rapport with stakeholders. You will also hold a strong understanding of legal risk management and corporate governance.
