This role will support the establishment and management of new initiatives from a legal and risk perspective as they arise giving the successful candidate the opportunity to work closely with all areas of this exciting business.
About the Role
This role will see you working alongside the Group General Counsel who offers an impressive background as a top-tier partner. You will primarily be providing legal advice on matters including commercial, financial services, corporate, and technology (data, privacy and IP). Furthermore, you will:
- Act as primary legal support for the Product team assisting with legal structuring, documentation and due diligence associated with transactions
- Draft bespoke legal documents such as platform agreements
- Draft and negotiate non-standard NDAs and third-party contract documentation including, Draft, review and negotiate term sheets, website language, flyers, trust deeds, transaction documents, legal opinions and due diligence signoffs
- Support and manage external lawyers, regulators and advisors as required
- Respond to internal legal queries across all business areas
- Interpret regulatory advice and contribute to process improvement and establishment of internal procedures and policies
- Assist with trusts, new funds and/or products (both offshore and onshore)
About You:
Our client is seeking a lawyer with between 2 and 5 years Post Qualification Experience to join their in-house legal team. To be successful for the role, you will have:
- Experience in private practice or a similar in-house role
- Experience drafting general commercial contracts including SaaS
- A familiarity with financial services licensing (wholesale) would be ideal
- An understanding of financial services products and the associated regulatory landscape (including AMLCTF, FATCA,CRS)
- An ability to balance both legal and business strategic objectives.
