Our client is a leading Global Pharmaceutical market leader in Generics and Biosimilar medicine.
The Role
As the Legal Counsel, you will support the Director of Legal & Ethics, Risk & Compliance, working as part of a small local legal team in Sydney.
You will support the ANZ business on contracts and other legal matters. You will act as a business partner in all activities relating to contractual negotiations, drafting and reviewing a wide variety of commercial contracts, advising on and assisting management decision-making regarding contracts, risks and opportunities relating to business activities, and you will also provide solutions, and assist with the implementation of legal policies, procedures and guidelines.
NB: This is a 10 month contract role initially, however there may be the possibility of the role becoming permanent after that initial period.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- 4-6 years PAE in-house legal experience in corporate/commercial law, ideally gained in-house, or alternatively at a leading Australian law firm;
- Ability to work autonomously;
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiating skills;
- A commercial and solutions-focused approach;
- A down to earth, approachable work style, with the ability to work well in a small, collegiate team environment.
In-house legal experience gained at a pharmaceutical company would be ideal, as would private practice experience advising the pharmaceutical industry, although this is not essential.
