The role:
We are recruiting a Legal Counsel based in Melbourne to support our business in APAC. This will be a full-time permanent role, that will report to the Chief Legal Officer APAC based in Melbourne, Australia.
Job description:
- Provide high-quality, practical and timely legal advice to key business stakeholders in APAC
- Review, negotiate and draft corporate, supplier and procurement contracts
- Support the business in managing legal risk and compliance, including monitoring changes in all relevant areas of law in APAC
- Maintain contract templates and document management
- Maintain licences with regulatory authorities
- General administrative support
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in law
Other job requirements:
- 3+ years’ PQE in either private practice or in-house (in-house experience preferred)
- General corporate commercial law experience, employment law, privacy law and contracts law
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent multi-tasking skills whereby you can prioritise your tasks according to level of urgency and manage stakeholders' expectations
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution
- Enjoy working as part of a team but able to work autonomously
- Integrity and a positive "can do" attitude with a commitment to finding solutions
- High attention to detail and a strong professional work ethic
