Position Overview
As a Legal Officer at JHK Legal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team by preparing, reviewing and organising legal documents. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with lawyers and clients. Key Responsibilities
- Preparing banking and finance facility documentation, mortgages and security documents
- Managing end-to-end re-finance and banking and finance files, from start to settlement, adhering to the legal requirements of all Australian jurisdictions
- Preparing settlement memoranda and obtaining signatures of parties through use of PEXA for streamlined and efficient electronic conveyancing
- Experience in handling land title transactions, commercial leasing, residential and commercial conveyancing
- Establish effective communication through email and telephone with clients, banks and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless transactions
- Conduct legal research as required
- Work closely with lawyers to assist on technical matters and to successfully settle files
Qualifications and Attributes
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will:
- Possess a minimum of 1-2 years Legal Officer experience
- Have a strong understanding of banking and finance transactions
- Be adept at using the Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrate confidence in drafting and preparing accurate conveyancing documentation and correspondence
- Exhibit excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Have experience using PEXA and Elodgement
- Demonstrate a proactive mindset to get the job done
- Be able to work well independently
Preferred, but not essential, qualifications include:
- Experience with understanding trust deeds and SMSFs
