The Integrity, Legal and Law Reform (ILLR) group supports the Attorney-General in her role as Victoria's First Law Officer and her criminal and civil law policy responsibilities. We prioritise our relationships with key entities across the justice system and the department to ensure policy reform is strategic, relevant, holistic and people-centred. The group is comprised of several branches, one of which is called Priority Projects.
Priority Projects branch delivers strategic policy and legislative projects that require targeted research and consultation with justice sector partners. These often include:
- implementation of priority reforms for government in the major crime or community safety space
- supporting the co-ordination of the Government's response to the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants
- reviewing aspects of Victoria's sentencing laws
- broad reviews of other key legislative schemes either required by the Attorney-General or by statute.
Within Priority Projects, the Legal Policy Officer is responsible for contributing to the co-ordination, research, development, implementation, review and reform of policy and legislation across the Attorney-General's portfolio.

- Knowledge of and/or experience in processes for government processes and policy development
- Knowledge of and/or experience/interest in criminal law and procedure, investigation powers and/or human rights, or otherwise other social or legal policy fields
- Strong written communication skills.
