MacKillop College, Bathurst
Temporary, Part Time Position (42 hours per fortnight)
Commencing: 6 May 2024 to 30 January 2025
Pay Rate: From $34.74 per hour


About the Role
MacKillop College, Bathurst has an exciting opportunity for a Library Assistant to join the team on a temporary basis in 2024. The role will be a part time position with the working days being Wednesday to Friday.  

The Library Assistant will support the Teacher Librarian in delivering high-quality instruction to students in a Catholic School setting. The role will involve:

  • Providing in-class support for the Teacher Librarian and students
  • Supporting and supervising students within the Library during lunchtimes, senior study groups and those participating in Distance Education Programs
  • Facilitating activities within the College Learning Centre and support College events and activities
  • Assisting the Teacher Librarian to maintain all Library and Learning Centre resources and facilities.
  • Collaborating with Classroom Teachers and the Teacher Librarian to ensure the inclusion of all students in all learning experiences
  • Applying appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment

About You (Selection Criteria)

  • experience and effectiveness as a Library Assistant, Learning Support Officer, School Support Officer, Teacher’s Aide or equivalent

  • characteristics that provide a positive role model to students at the College both in their professional and personal life.
