About the Role
A part-time opportunity working Tuesday - Thursday (21 hours p/w).
This position will be responsible for producing high quality original and copy-cataloging and classification of library materials in selected languages and formats, including but not limited to, monographs, journals, audio-visual, digital and online resources in accordance with specified library
standards.
Key accountabilities include:

• Accurately perform copy cataloguing. Regularly undertake quality control checks on bibliographic records and item holdings provided by external suppliers to ensure catalogue integrity.
• Undertake ongoing maintenance of bibliographic records and item holdings, resolving cataloguing problems in a timely manner.
• Provide feedback in the implementation and maintenance of Library Cataloguing software, including LMS upgrades.
• Demonstrate a high level of understanding of librarianship and the information industry, in particular emerging ethical and legal issues pertaining to the dissemination of information electronically in a public library environment.
• Be willing to undertake a variety of team tasks, such as, processing of deliveries or Inter-library loans, as required.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Sciences
• Minimum 5 years proficiency in the application of metadata, cataloguing and classification standards and metadata schema.
• Extensive cataloguing experience in original and copy cataloguing of a variety of formats; including but not limited to book, audio visual and online resources.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain the integrity of the library managment system through authority file control.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
