About The Role
We are in search of a dynamic Lifestyle Assistant to enrich our warm and supportive team. If successful, you will engage primarily with one family while also having the chance to extend your impact to others. You will collaborate closely with the Individual and family to develop their skills and reach their goals in line with their NDIS plan.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care assistance where necessary such as bathing, grooming and dressing.
- Assisting with household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, laundry and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Supporting Individuals with mobility issues, including transferring, positioning, and using mobility aids.
- Supporting Individuals in participating in social activities, community outings and events.
- Promoting independence and empowerment by encouraging Individuals to make choices and exercise control over their lives.
- Demonstrate proficiency in communicating with individuals facing diverse language and communication challenges, coupled with the capacity to maintain patience and understanding through interactions.
- Implementing and following individualised care plans and behaviour support strategies.
- Documenting observations, progress notes, and incident reports accurately and promptly.
The nature of these tasks and responsibilities adapts to cater to the unique needs and preferences of each Individual we assist. Our overarching objective is to deliver tailored support that fosters independence, empowering individuals to lead not only fulfilling lives but that offers meaning and opportunity.
About You
To thrive in this position, we seek individuals who are passionate about providing support to those with disability. This should be coupled with a genuine interest in connecting with others. Ideal candidates will possess:
- Flexible availability for round-the-clock shifts, including days, sleepover shifts, and weekends.
- Up to Date NDIS Screening
- Current driver licence
- Reliable Vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
