At Regis Weston, we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team as Lifestyle Assistants.
As a Lifestyle Assistant, you will play a vital role in the delivery of individual and group activity programs designed to enhance our residents’ physical, intellectual, emotional, cultural and social well-being. We are looking for someone with a positive personality, the capacity to work well autonomously and as a team player, and who is passionate about ensuring our residents have engaging and meaningful activities that suit their needs and interests.
Role responsibilities
Planning and organizing engaging and meaningful activities for residents, considering their interests, abilities, and cultural backgrounds, and coordinating the implementation of these activities.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of resident participation, progress, and outcomes related to lifestyle and recreational activities.
- Effective communication with residents, their families, and the broader care team. Building rapport, active listening, and empathetic communication are key aspects of establishing meaningful relationships.
- Implementing person-centered approaches, engaging in meaningful activities, and employing techniques to enhance the quality of life for residents with dementia.
- Collaborating effectively with the care team, including nurses, allied health professionals, and support staff, to ensure holistic care delivery, effective communication, and coordination of activities and services.
- Ensuring compliance with Regis health and safety regulations
What we look for
- Certificate IV in Leisure and Health is desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of dementia and its impact on individuals preferred
- A creative individual with good planning and organization skills
- An empathetic and compassionate individual who strives to provide clients with the best support
- A passion for caring for others
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Respect for all people, regardless of background, age, gender, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
To work in residential aged care, you will need to provide satisfactory background checks, supply an NDIS worker screening clearance, COVID and flu vaccinations, and certification proof.
