About the position

As the Lifestyle Assistant you will provide high quality support to people with disabilities and complex behaviours. This involves undertaking a broad range of duties which includes personal care, medication administration, household tasks, administrative functions and above all, engaging and supporting participants to live their best life.

About you

You have extensive experience supporting people with mental health, intellectual impairment and challenging behaviours.

You have an in depth understanding and experience of trauma informed care, have the ability to build rapport, develop awareness of participant triggers and to deescalate situations.

You are patient, empathetic and are truly passionate about helping people, and supporting their goals to realisation.

Ideally, you are available to attend sleepover shifts. This will involve a worked shift prior to the sleepover, at the afternoon rate, a sleepover allowance for the sleepover portion, as per the SCHADS award, and at times, an additional couple of worked hours the next morning.

Position Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Manual handling is a requirement of the role.
  • Experience with complex and challenging behaviours is a must.
  • Willing to support our customers with domestic duties.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in report writing.
  • Capacity to meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Current driver’s license and own reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screen.
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
  • Current First aid and CPR Certificates.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or higher.
  • Current Police Check.
  • COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Maybo training preferred
  • Willingness to do sleepover shifts and work weekends.
