Position Overview: HW Greenham is seeking a skilled and experienced Livestock Supervisor to lead our dedicated team of 10-15 staff across 2 shifts. The Livestock Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of our livestock, while also overseeing day-to-day operations and coordinating with the plant manager and group Livestock management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all activities related to the care and management of livestock, including feeding, watering, health monitoring, and handling.
- Lead and motivate a team of 10-15 staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Oversee the scheduling of staff across 2 shifts, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with the plant manager and group Livestock management team to develop and implement strategies to optimize livestock performance and productivity.
- Maintain accurate records of livestock inventory, health status, productivity, and staff schedules.
- Monitor environmental conditions and implement measures to ensure the comfort and well-being of livestock.
- Coordinate with veterinarians and other specialists to address health issues and implement preventive measures.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications for record-keeping, reporting, and communication purposes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of [insert number] years of experience in livestock management, with demonstrated supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
