What does your daily life look like at Yancoal?
As the Logistics & Coal Quality Coordinator you are responsible for coordinating the effective, efficient and timely delivery of coal to meet both domestic and overseas customer delivery requirements, all the while exceeding service, quality & contractual requirements.
Your responsibilities include:
- Coordination of train delivery schedules and port stockpiles to ensure correct quality and timely delivery of coal
- Manage shipment loading and quality, and the associated logistics
- Participate in 24x7 logistics coverage for railing, shipping, Coal Quality management and other associated tasks
- Coal Product Management by sale, shipment parcel, and blend optimisation
- Logistics incident management e.g. Port disruptions.
- Manage contractual & service provider obligations (rail & shipping including port allocation.)
What do you need to be successful in the role?
To be successful in the role you will require the following skills:
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Logistics, Mining, Geology, Metallurgy, Process Engineering, Coal Quality or related discipline (or equivalent experience.)
Skills & Knowledge:
- Numerate with sound financial understanding and good fiscal management
- Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft applications in particular Excel
- Flexible attitude to adapt to changing requirements and directives.
- Proven organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Attention to detail in delivering accurate documentation
- Ability to work as a 'team player' in a small workgroup dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders to achieve required outcomes.
Experience:
- Exposure to Operational Environments such as bulk cargo terminal operations, shipping/or rail operations, Coal Quality, superintending, or Laboratory operations (preparation, analysis and reporting)
- Knowledge of Queensland and NSW coal chains
- Knowledge of pit to port scheduling and planning techniques
