Logistics Coordinator

Way Funky Company, an Australian swimwear company that produces the labels FUNKY TRUNKS and FUNKITA, has a fantastic, newly created position available for a Logistics Coordinator located in our Head Office in Abbotsford. This role is an important position within the team and offers plenty of variety and scope for the right individual to shine and grow within the organisation taking on logistics challenges in a rapidly expanding global business. 

We need someone who is passionate and enthusiastic to support the key supply chain requirements of the company through our operations in Australasia, Asia, Europe and North America. The role will require thorough attention to detail, a systematic approach to meet the deadlines of the company’s production schedule and a willingness to juggle administration duties to become an integral part of the business and be a real team player.

Role Objectives:

This is a vital role to our business, with a willingness to help wherever needed. You will be required to meet and engage face-to-face, via phone and email with our retailers in Australia. This means you will need to travel within Victoria and interstate. You will also need to provide support via phone and email to our retailers, agents and distributors within Australia and globally to resolve queries and encourage the promotion of our brands in a consistent and professional manner. You will be required to assist with the release of our collections to both the B2B and B2C markets through various administrative and sales and marketing related tasks. You will be required to perform retail sales at pop-up shop events and within the company’s head office store. 

In this busy and varied role, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Liaison between the company and 3PL providers
  • Daily management of freight operations, including bookings, tracking and management, manifest compliance, and delivery issues
  • Inventory management including weekly stock reporting at all 3PL and company warehouses
  • Coordinate deliveries from suppliers or 3PL warehouses to meet delivery scheduling
  • Manage outward logistics to ensure customer deliveries meet company standards
  • Coordinating and arranging all imports according to customer and company requirements
  • Optimising shipments for cost, efficiency and expected arrivals
  • Liaising with overseas suppliers by email and phone which can be out of standard working hours.
  • Updating systems and team members of progress and delays
  • Manage ad and salesman samples to ensure they are accounted for and delivered to and from sales personnel 
  • Regular factory communication including product development, sampling, packaging and ordering
  • Offer customer service and liaison as required

To be considered for this exciting new role, you will need to have:

Demonstrated experience within logistics and administration

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with suppliers, customers and staff through various methods including, phone, email and face-to-face meetings.

Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office with advanced use of Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivotal tables, complex formulas and VLOOKUP functions.

Demonstrated experience with ERP system, preferably NetSuite.

Must be a team player and be able to work in a fast-paced environment, including the ability to meet challenging deadlines as well as working independently.

Able to manage multiple projects at a time ability to work well under pressure and prioritise your workload.

Creative with a strong attention to detail with an ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues when they arise. 

Experience within the apparel industry, with knowledge of the swimwear labels an advantage.
