We are a highly experienced provider to the mining and earth moving supply chain, providing component rebuild remanufacturing and repair services for hydraulic cylinders and other working mechanical components. From our extensive facility in Wingfield, SA, we have Australia’s deepest vertical plating tanks, extensive metal spray and laser cladding solutions, cylindrical grinding, linishing and polishing services, bore Honing and welding facilities.
About the role
Reporting to the Managing Director, these roles facilitate the operation of an abrasive machining process that produces a precision surface on a metal workpiece by scrubbing an abrasive grinding stone or linishing belt against it along a controlled path. Typical applications are the preparation or polishing of internal or external diameters of hydraulic cylinders and bores.
Qualifications & experience
- Machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Able to interpret plans and specifications and deliver work with a high attention to detail and level of accuracy.
- Holds forklift and driver's licence
- Other experiences in related areas such as metal fabrication, welding, cylindrical grinding or machining looked upon favourably.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Application of manual or semi-automatic procedures when performing honing or linishing surface preparations.
- Ensure all work processes deliver the highest level of precision required to meet client technical specifications - including critical surface roughness specifications and sizing tolerances.
- Read and interpret inspection reports, technical diagrams and other project documentation to perform task at hand and provide accurate and precise assessments of work completed including final inspection reports.
- Other responsibilities include the maintenance and servicing of equipment, monitoring and sourcing of consumable supplies and parts, general metal work and/or fabrication requirements and general workshop maintenance or repair.
- Willing to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
