- Supervise and coordinate the 'in-house' mechanical maintenance team to carryout effective maintenance and repairs of mechanical equipment across the Qube site, to reduce and prevent mechanical failures.
- Manage and develop the mechanical team members to ensure a cross sectional skill set is maintained as a team to support the team's function.
- Assist in the development, scheduling and execution of shutdown plans across the Qube operational facility.
- Escort wide/over dimensional loads
- Coordination of breakdowns, vehicle accidents and recoveries
- Drive heavy vehicles to repair subcontractors (RMS, TCM, Scania & Westerns)
- Perform routine preventative maintenance - oil and filter changes, handle minor maintenance repairs, and perform weekly safety and mechanical inspection of vehicles
- Coordinate trailer servicing
- Ensuring that effective long and short-term maintenance planning and scheduling takes place by actively participating in planning processes and budget development with the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, fleet allocators & seek advice from the Managers/Supervisors to resolve maintenance problems as they arise
- Coordinate and monitor yard congestion by managing queue control
- Drop off/pick up drivers to stand/sighting/trucks as required.
- Reporting damages caused by drivers
- Perform ad hoc duties as requested by your manager
- Current Australian HR-MC heavy vehicle driver's license, and Logistics studies would be well regarded
- Minimum 3 years' experience in operating heavy vehicles
- Good geographical knowledge of Melbourne
- Maintenance experience preferred
- Solid experience within fast-paced role
