We’re seeking a skilled Mechanical Coordinator to join our global business, dedicated to upskilling and fostering a safe and positive work environment.
This crucial role, based in Queensland, Mackay region, plays a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth operation of our well-established site.
Collaborating closely with the broader team, under the guidance of the Maintenance Superintendent, you will support daily maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion to minimise site disruptions.
You will be involved in planning, coordinating, executing and overseeing maintenance activities for site facilities, including infrastructure and equipment.
Duties include:
People:
- Ensure comprehensive induction and supervision of maintenance contractors.
- Foster open communication with the maintenance team and contractors.
- Actively participate in a teamwork-driven environment to achieve collective goals.
Technical:
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative maintenance methods for safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Utilise CMMS for strategic work order planning, prioritisation, efficient closure, cost tracking, and data collection.
- Generate weekly maintenance schedules and plans for shutdowns.
- Manage requisitions for tools, equipment, consumables, and labour.
- Conduct regular plant inspections and plan remedial work as needed.
- Maintain correct storage and packaging of critical spare parts.
Commercial:
- Collaborate with the CHPP Manager to compile the annual maintenance budget.
- Strategically plan and execute maintenance activities to minimise costs.
- Create monthly reports detailing maintenance expenditures.
- Secure competitive quotes for cost-effective parts and services.
- Develop cost estimate schedules for planned shutdowns.
Who are you?
- Trade Qualified with an Australian-recognised Mechanical Qualification.
- Possess S1, S2, and S3 (Supervisory) qualifications.
- Strong computer skills and quick adaptability to new systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS or equivalent systems preferred.
- Prior work experience in mining, civil, or industrial environments is essential.
- Known for being a positive and safety-conscious team player.
