Maintenance Electrician | Day Shift | 4 Day Week

Our client is a well known, 100% family owned importer and distributor of food products to the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Located in Altona, their bustling site has been operating for over 30 years, managing the supply chain from end to end to ensure their customers are supplied with the right products at the right time.

Flexi Personnel are currently sourcing an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join their busy team.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be required to:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including wiring, lighting fixtures, motors, and control systems.
• Inspect electrical components, identify faults, and diagnose issues using appropriate testing devices.
• Assist and undertake changeovers which will involve changing mechanical components, skilled in dismantling and reassembling equipment's.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventive measures to ensure the safety and reliability of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to plan and execute electrical & mechanical projects and upgrades.
• Follow electrical code standards and safety regulations during all installation and maintenance activities.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems and providing effective solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in electrical technology and industry best practices.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

• Trade qualified with a background in mechanical applications in either industrial, metals, engineering, electrical or automotive.
• You must hold a current A Grade Electrical Workers' License.
• You will have experience with PLCs.
• Pneumatic systems experience and able to read mechanical schematics and drawings.
• A preference is for you to have previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of electrical principles, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of local electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
