About Our Role
Simplot are seeking applicants for the position of Maintenance Electrician (Shift) for a full-time, permanent opportunity as part of our on-site Maintenance Team at our Kelso facility. Simplot Kelso is home to our frozen seafood and snack line production and produces about 50 tonnes of product each day. Approximately 95% of items are made of either Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) seafood.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will provide electrical services to our large scale production operations, and will work a rotating roster (day / afternoon / night) Monday - Saturday.
Our plant equipment & capabilities involve;
- Slicer presser, fish finger and Formax processing
- Radio frequency tunnels
- Par frying
- Dusting, coating and frying
- Spiral freezing and frozen stores
- 2 automated, robotic packing and palletising lines
With base rates ranging from $41.29 - $45.23 p/h (dependent on certifications & experience) + shift allowances + site allowances + penalties & overtime opportunities (where applicable) , this is a great opportunity for those suitably certified tradespeople looking to demonstrate a high degree of competency in the electrical field with a global leader in food production.

What You Will Do
- Perform maintenance, preventative and breakdown electrical tasks throughout the production, engineering and office areas of our Kelso facility with a safety first mindset
- Ensure site plant and equipment is maintained per the maintenance schedule whilst maintaining safety and maximising production requirements
- Work with PLC and electrically controlled systems fault finding, programming and connections
- Work in conjunction with other on-site trades (mechanical fitters + contractors) to ensure maintenance work orders + breakdown activities are completed to a high standard
- Participating in continual improvement processes
- Application of operational standards and procedures
About You
- Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace
- Hold a current NSW Electrical Supervisor Licence
- Dual trade instrumentation & experience with PLC systems will be highly regarded
- Demonstrated diagnostic, fault finding and trouble shooting skills
- Experience with fixed plant electrical works
- Experience in safety & quality systems and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret schematics (advantageous)
- 3-5 years demonstrated maintenance experience within an FMCG industry plant (highly desirable but not essential)
- Sound judgment and decision making ability
- Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills in addition to time management skills
- Intermediate user of Windows-based systems and software
- Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to work within a team environment
