THE ROLE

We are currently looking for a Qualified Fitter and Turner who is enthusiastic, practical and a proactive problem solver to join our Engineering Maintenance Team at Hume Masterpanel.

As a part of the maintenance team you will be involved with preventative and breakdown maintenance on a wide range of plant and equipment which include boilers, presses, feeding and stacking automation and water treatment.  Also we have a steel section with a turret, laser, press brakes and various roll formers.  There is also ongoing installation and commissioning work of various types of machinery.

We have a workshop with lathes, milling machine, shaper, radial and pedestal drills and welding/cutting equipment.  There is no shortage of benchwork repairing and refurbishing spare parts.

This is a full-time position, working 5 days 8 hours (38 hour week) it also requires you to work relief work covering 12 hour rotating shifts with the view to move to permanent shift position if required. 

Must pass drug and alcohol screening

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Trade qualification and experience
• Pneumatics and hydraulics experience.
• Roll forming maintenance would be highly preferred 
• Experience in breakdown maintenance within an automated plant.
• Ability to undertake welding repairs and basic fabrication skills.
• Turning and machining experience
• Manufacturing Environment.
• Ability to effectively diagnose faults with a methodical approach.
• Forklift Ticket and experience
• Must be able to read and follow drawings. 
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
• The ability and confidence to work effectively without supervision.
• Good planning, time management and communication skills.

Skills and qualifications listed below would be advantageous.

• Experience in Machine installation.
• Restricted electrical ticket.
• EWP ticket.
• Forklift ticket
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
