About the Role
An outstanding opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Leading Hand to join our Gunnedah Basin Haulage site in the Maintenance team. The Leading Hand will be employed under a roster of 5/2 – Monday to Friday.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in leading the maintenance crew, providing guidance and proactive leadership skills.
- Complete planned, unplanned, and corrective maintenance tasks
- Ensure compliance to Whitehaven Coals Occupational Health and Safety Standard is being met.
- Ensure that all incidents, accidents and hazards are reported and are followed up correctly to minimise and manage risk.
- Inspect equipment and raise job requests on any defective parts/components found.
What You’ll Bring
- Mining or general heavy industry / haulage experience in a Leading Hand or leadership position
- Risk management experience
- Problem-solving
- Knowledge of OH&S legislation and statutory requirements in NSW (Desireable)
- RIIRIS301D – Apply Risk Management Processes
- RIIWHS301D – Conduct safety and Health Investigations
- RIICOM301D – Communicate Information
- Current Driver’s Licence (essential)
- RIIRIS402D Carry out the risk management process
