Job description

Do you love to build genuine connections, nurture belonging and enhance life? At Aveo, you can do just that and more. Join us and feel confident to embrace new challenges in our supportive culture. Bring your whole-self to work, grow as you learn new things and be rewarded through the joy of helping others. Together let's redefine retirement living for senior Australians.

The Opportunity

The Clayfield Retirement Village is a luxury retirement living community that boasts historic buildings, an à la carte restaurant, dog park and carefully manicured gardens & grounds. In this role of Maintenance Officer, you will work with your fellow team members to ensure all maintenance, compliance and repair tasks are completed to a high standard around the village. You will spend your day attending to maintenance & repair tasks, connecting with the friendly residents and ensuring the overall village is safe & presentable for all to enjoy. The ideal candidate needs to be friendly, approachable to residents, have the ability to work autonomously and have general maintenance or 'handyperson' experience.

This new opportunity is a permanent full-time position working Monday-Friday. No weekends!

You will

  • You will organise and attend to various maintenance requests to create a safe and pleasant environment for residents, visitors, staff and others
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure projects undertaken are safe, timely and completed to a high standard
  • Oversee maintenance work undertaken by Contractors within the community
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks around the community as per schedules
  • Be a friendly face to the residents and work alongside a fantastic team!
  • Log and record job completions and/or safety incident reports
  • Please note - this is not a gardening role. We've got that covered!

What you will bring

  • Experience in General Maintenance, trades, facilities and/or 'Handyperson' roles (highly desired)
  • A warm & caring personality with an interest to make a difference every day
  • Valid driver's licence (required)
  • Current Police Check certificate (required, but if you do not have one, we can complete for you)
  • Minimum two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations up-to-date (required)

What we offer

  • $30.57/hour + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates and overtime
  • Enjoy every weekend off!
  • Up to 12 weeks Parental Leave
  • Ability to purchase additional Annual Leave
  • Employee Referral Program, earning you up to $1000!
  • Be part of a friendly and supportive team in a wonderful community
  • Free Employee Assistance Program
  • Join a leading retirement communities operator
  • Be part of an organisation focused on innovation and support
