SalaryMeriton Suites is currently seeking a Maintenance Officer to support our beautiful Bondi Junction property.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Officer you will work to ensure our property is safe, well maintained and guest's needs are met in line with Meriton Suite's brand standards. You will work closely alongside all departments as part of high performing maintenance team.

Some of your key responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and replacements of fixtures, including lighting, windows, doors, locks, and handrails.
- Investigate and repair various plumbing issues, such as leaks and faulty taps, basins and toilets.
- Engage in basic carpentry including safe use of power tools, plastering, painting including replacing of doors in to maintain and enhance the appearance and structural integrity of the hotel.
- Ensure the operational efficiency of safety equipment, by checking items such as fire alarms, smoke detectors and extinguishers.
- Carrying out small welding tasks to construct or mend fixtures.
- Checking safety equipment such as fire hoses, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and alarms.
- Maintain cleanliness by managing waste and debris in gutters and common areas.
- Proactively identify and report recommendations for repairs to leadership team.
- Oversee daily cleanliness and safety checks of the pool, spa, and sauna areas, ensuring all amenities are guest-ready and comply with health regulations.
- Support routine maintenance tasks, including water quality monitoring, surface cleaning, and ensuring filtration systems are functioning smoothly, in collaboration with our pool technician.
- Carry out preventive maintenance in guest rooms as required and directed, to maintain optimal comfort, functionality and upkeep for hotel guests.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience in a hotel or similar fast-paced environment
- The necessary skills required to carry out painting, carpentry, concreting, tiling and other general maintenance tasks, trade qualification being preferred.
- Attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster (can include weekends and public holidays).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills dealing with guests, team members and other stakeholders such as trades and suppliers.
