Parliament of Victoria, Department of Parliamentary ServicesAbout the roleThe Buildings and Grounds Services unit is located in the Department of Parliamentary Services and is responsible for the maintenance and development of the historic grounds at Parliament House and provision of a comprehensive range of building support services.The Maintenance Officer (Electrical) will carry out maintenance (including electrical, carpentry as well as general maintenance) within the Parliamentary Precinct as well as providing customer focussed support and services to Members of Parliament, staff and the public.Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working closely with all precinct and property management staff, this role sits within a small professional team who share a passion and commitment for providing quality service within the Parliamentary Precinct.About you

• You have proven experience in delivering high quality construction and maintenance services within a heritage environment (or similar);

• You have demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills for dealing effectively with a diverse client base and delivering a high quality customer service experience; and

• You have sufficient knowledge and experience in managing OHS issues relevant to work activities and work areas as well as operating and maintaining all workspaces, machinery, and equipment to ensure safe work practices which includes the escalation of hazards (in accordance with Parliament procedures).
