The Role
Namoi Cotton is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner. This role is responsible for day-to-day maintenance planning including repairs, safety, compliance, management of cotton ginning production machinery and equipment. This critical position ensures the completion of maintenance tasks to achieve bale output targets to the highest standard of quality and safety.
The hours of work can be up to 12-hour shifts during cotton ginning production (depending on crop sizes).
Your duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Scheduling and facilitating the undertaking of electrical engineering maintenance and repairs and safety;
- Facilitating the identification of faults and utilise troubleshooting skills to identify and implement solutions;
- Scheduling and facilitating the undertaking of the installation, testing, calibrating, modifying, and repairing electrical equipment and installations;
- Ensure maintenance schedule is followed;
- Reporting of production turnout;
- Conduct tests of electrical systems related to production machinery and systems;
- Effective production shift operations to support efficient hale output, reporting downtime, coordination of staff and safety compliance checks;
- Monitor and ensure sae and efficient electrical engineering operations at all times;
- Assisting electrical engineer as and when required;
- Ensure all EH&S daily, weekly and monthly checks and reporting have been finalised;
- Successful mentoring and coaching of trainees;
- Training of casual staff according to company standards.
- Merah North / Wee Waa, New South Wales, which is approximately 566kms from the state capital, Sydney, New South Wales.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate has previous experience in a similar role and is equipped with a trade background or proven skills in mechanical and/or electrical applications.
You'll have a mature and proactive approach to your duties and be able to work well with all members of the team. With excellent people management and problem-solving skills, it's important you can prove the following:
- Maintenance Planner/trade certificate (or proven skills in these areas);
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experience, experience in cotton ginning production systems required;
- Experience providing out of the box solutions to unique and complex operating problems;
- Exposure to managing a diverse team or shift in remote or isolated environments;
- General understanding of hydraulics, moisture systems;
- General ability to use computers, radios, phones, tablets etc to achieve work outcomes and reporting requirements;
- Exposure to working in high pressure environments;
- Leadership and management experience;
- Open driver's license;
- Lifting > up to 20kgs;
- Physically capable of performing the role;
- Long periods of sitting and standing;
- Working within confined spaces and working at heights tickets.
