Batchfire Resources Pty Ltd is an Australian private company that owns and operates the Callide Mine near Biloela in Central Queensland.
A long-standing operation, Callide Mine is an open-cut coal mine producing thermal coal for domestic power generation and alumina refining. The operation has significant recoverable coal reserves and long-term supply contracts in place, ensuring its long-term future.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our dynamic and high performing Maintenance Department at Callide Mine. Reporting to the Planning & Reliability Superintendent, your key focus will be delivering appropriately resourced and effective maintenance plans to support Batchfire’s fleet of Tracked Equipment (Excavators & Dozers). You will also be accountable for ensuring plant and equipment is maintained and repaired in line with company production requirements, targeted availabilities and assist in the development of maintenance strategies and budgets for the equipment.
The Maintenance Planner will plan & schedule maintenance activities for Tracked Equipment inclusive of excavators and dozers and be responsible for statutory areas of compliance including structural inspections (NDT). The Maintenance Planner will ensure maintenance tasks are resourced appropriately and aligned with the budget. This role will provide input into weekly work management KPI's and have a focus on influencing workorder completion and throughput to achieve compliance targets. The Maintenance Planner will monitor performance against the plan and collaborate with maintenance personnel and supervisors to conduct end of month accruals and commitments for planner group.
Skills and Attributes Required
- Trade or tertiary qualification in a mechanical or engineering discipline preferred
- Experience with tracked and/or mobile equipment maintenance and familiarity with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS);
- Experience forecasting hours-based maintenance schedules through a CMMS (Pronto);
- Able to converse with all levels of management and stakeholders
- Previous experience managing identified work to ensure defects are resolved in a timely manner;
- Able to align maintenance strategies to achieve high rate of scheduled work compliance;
- Experience in similar mining industry and/or plant maintenance/scheduling role
- Sound knowledge of word processing applications (MS Excel, Word, and Project);
- Strong communication skills
- Passion for analysis and problem solving;
- Attention to detail and good organisational skills;
- The ability to work well under pressure and within deadlines;
- Experience with data, document control and record management;
- Experienced with zero-based budget (ZBB) processes;
- An overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibilities;
- Able to actively investigate enhancements to procedures and processes that achieve improvements in performance, safety, job satisfaction and productivity.
