Puma Energy Bitumen, have a great opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join the team at our Bitumen Terminal located at Pinkenba in Brisbane, Queensland. This role is an exciting combination of managing the complexities of a petroleum storage facility, with the dynamic nature of an operational manufacturing facility.
Key responsibilities include providing leadership to the Bulwer terminal employees and contractors to ensure safe and efficient asset management, whilst meeting statutory requirements and Puma Energy standards. This includes providing leadership and supervision of preventative maintenance tasks, co-ordinating and executing corrective maintenance activities, completing maintenance tasks and inspections along with cost control and implementing and updating maintenance systems.
About this position:
- Responsible for safe and efficient asset management, including coordinating and supervising all maintenance activities
- Execute the preventative maintenance plan, major overhauls and projects
- Manage employees and contractors including permit issuing
- Provide technical support and diagnosis of system faults and breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Conduct terminal and asset inspections
- Strong focus on HSE, reliability and quality
- Able and willing to assist operations where required, including supporting and/or providing coverage to the Assistant Terminal Manager and Terminal Manager.
- Develop operating procedures for maintenance tasks and provide input in the development of maintenance specifications.
Our ideal candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, who is self-motivated and driven to make improvements. They will have a strong service focus, be able to manage difficult situations calmly, be flexible in working hours should there be breakdowns or unexpected events and possess the following qualifications/skills/experience:
- A minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferably with Oil or manufacturing Industry exposure
- Experience working in mechanical or electrical maintenance planning and/or supervision
- Basic understanding of Trade Practices requirements
- Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, industry safety standards; and engineering standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for industrial systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic process plant equipment, electrical systems, PLC’s and instrumentation
- Experience using an asset maintenance system
- Effective organisational and planning capabilities
- Experience with minor project management including Scope of Works development and budgeting
- Experience in managing safe operations including exposure to emergency response
- The ability to lead, motivate and work collaboratively with others
- Strong customer focus and self-motivated to identify and implement operational improvements
- Competency in Microsoft Office, in particular excel, word and outlook.
As a preference, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a technical field, or relevant Trade Certification, would be advantageous
- Tertiary education in an Engineering related discipline or relevant Trade Certification;
- Experience in automated control systems
- Experience in permit issuing
- First Aid certification
