A Fitter Supervisor in a meat processing facility is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair activities related to mechanical equipment and machinery. This role involves managing a team of fitters and ensuring the smooth functioning of all mechanical systems within the plant. Key responsibilities may include:
Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of fitters, assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion of maintenance activities.
Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, including conveyors, processing machinery, and other components used in meat processing.
Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose mechanical issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, creating a secure working environment for all staff.
Coordination: Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions to operations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory of spare parts.
Training: Provide training and guidance to fitter teams, ensuring they are well-versed in safety protocols and proficient in carrying out maintenance tasks.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in equipment maintenance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Reporting: Report to higher management on the status of equipment, potential risks, and recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
Adherence to Standards: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment in a meat processing facility.
Payment:
Salary Position: $135,000 - $145,000
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a fitter supervisor in a meat processing or similar industrial setting.
- Technical expertise in mechanical systems and equipment used in meat processing.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Relevant certifications or licenses, such as a trade qualification in mechanical fitting.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies in maintenance
