This open-cut thermal coal operation consists of a full suite of mining activities inclusive of dragline, truck and excavator, dozer push, mine site rehabilitation, coal processing, coal crushing, product haulage and train load-out activities.
The Blair Athol Coal mine is located 24 km northwest of the family-friendly township of Clermont in Central Queensland, 120 km northwest of Emerald and 275 km southwest of Mackay.

The Role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor. The role will be required to provide leadership and guidance to all maintenance staff in the workshop.
You will apply your practical experience in maintaining Liebherr, Hitachi, Caterpillar and Komatsu heavy mobile mining equipment in an open cut mining environment. You will be supported in the role and encouraged to learn and develop your team with an emphasis on safe practices and high standards. The role will also gain exposure to a wide variety of pumps, support equipment and may undertake either workshop or field-based maintenance.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Supporting effective execution of priority equipment across the mining fleet ensuring safety, quality, cost and timely delivery of Maintenance activities
- Leading, mentoring and effectively managing a multi skilled crew to deliver output
- Planning, scheduling & coordinating the day-to-day work, assigning clear and achievable tasks to team members
- Ensuring all team members are engaged through clear understanding of role accountabilities and performance measures by providing regular feedback on performance
- Contributing to continuous improvement and optimisation of site systems and assets
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant trade qualifications (Electrical or Mechanical);
- Demonstrated Supervisory experience within mining maintenance
- A can-do attitude, positively impacting culture
- Experience in coordination of major equipment maintenance
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient in the use of computer systems i.e., PRONTO, Microsoft office suite
