ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations of our organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all heavy machinery, light vehicles, and equipment are in good working condition and that maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner. The Maintenance Supervisor will also be responsible for managing a team of maintenance technicians and ensuring that they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure that all heavy machinery and equipment are properly maintained.
- Manage a team of tradies and apprentices, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of plant & equipment to identify potential issues and address them before they become major problems.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner and support the operational needs of the department.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory records.
- Ensure that all maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Support the Director-Maintenance with the monitoring of the maintenance budget, ensuring that all expenses are within budgetary constraints.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in the maintenance department.
ABOUT YOU:
- Mechanical Trade Certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
