Key Purpose of Role:
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing diversified duties in order to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to all relevant safety, preventative and corrective maintenance requirements. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company and all equipment is to be maintained according to an approved schedule. The mechanical maintenance technician will be supported in their role by a qualified electrical Maintenance Technician.
Areas of Responsibility:
• Commission, repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as certified testing units, torque drivers, sealing tools, conveyors, compressors, and other misc. production equipment.
• Management of maintenance tasks through the use of SAP or similar program, through performing work order repairs, inspections and adjustments.
• Repair or replace devices such as pneumatic hand tools, jigs and fixtures, mechanical presses etc. as needed
• Able to set up and operate maintenance related equipment and hand tools safely; welders, CNC milling, lathe, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment.
• Conduct repair and maintenance works to the site facility including minor carpentry, painting, and plumbing maintenance work.
• Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment and tooling.
• Provide knowledge and opinion on mechanical components throughout associated projects.
• Assistance in the management of contractors in the service and repair of plant equipment and processes.
• Participates in plant safety, health and environmental programs ensuring all work and equipment meets OH&S
and MSDS requirements.
• Support engineering department in facility projects including ; plant layouts, security systems, fire systems and
cleaning.
• Assist in the drive for continuious improvement in critical areas such as safety and operational efficiency.

• Maintenance completed on time according to documented schedules.
Professional Experience ( years)
• Have at least 5 years experience with pneumatics, mechanics and basic electrical repair.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
• Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communication.
• Understanding of computing systems ie. online parts catalogues and SAP.
Qualifications and Additional Requirements
• Previous experience in similar role preferred
• Forklift and scissor lift license preferred
• Knowledge of electrical circuits and electronic components are an advantage but not essential
