Boomaroo Nurseries’ is a world class vegetable seedling producer, supplying over 300 million seedlings and 1.5 million garden and indoor plants to growers and nurseries across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, ACT, Tasmania, and South Australia.
Boomaroo Nurseries is looking for a Machinery Maintenance Worker to be the primary maintenance person at our Southbrook site.
About the role:
- Plan, prioritise and conduct machinery maintenance and improvement tasks throughout the nursery, and coordinate with any other internal or external parties as required.
- Complete more complex machinery and equipment maintenance in line with the specific trade qualification or other qualifications and skills and skills obtained;
- Manufacturing and repairing equipment;
- Manage tools, spares and consumables in relation to the maintenance department;
- Managing & administering the maintenance/servicing of company equipment in line with the schedule and as directed by your manager;
- Initiate and complete work orders and ensure timely sign off along with relevant feedback information and other reports as required;
- Manufacturing and repairing equipment and/or its organisation;
- Identify, diagnose & create solutions for complex problems/inefficiencies;
- Communicate with stakeholders regarding the progress of maintenance tasks;
- Ensure that areas & items where maintenance is conducted left clean;
- Provide immediate responses to emergency work orders;
- Maintain and develop the maintenance software system;
- Inspection of equipment and property and the scheduling of maintenance.
This is a part time 12-month contract for up to 30 hours per week.
About you:
- Fault finding and problem solving skills;
- Previous experience with a Computerised Maintenance Management System;
- Strong mechanical aptitude;
- Ability to work independently and plan and manage your own work with competing priorities;
- Ability to work and schedule with others;
- EWP, Forklift and Working at Heights licenses (desirable or willingness to complete training);
- Drivers license;
- Hydraulic and pneumatic experience (desirable);
- Light fabrication and welding experience, including ARC and MIG welding (desirable);
- Machine or tractor operation experience (desirable);
- Relevant trade qualifications will be looked at favorably (but not essential).
