Diamond Sports is an Australian based manufacturer and retailer specialising in custom teamwear and sports apparel. We provide high performing, top quality garments for sporting teams, clubs and associations around Australia and abroad. Our constant pursuit for excellence is driven by a team of 14 locally based employees and over 250 staff based in our manufacturing facility in Fuzhou, China. As part of our growth strategy, we are excited to expand our business into Southeast Asia, further solidifying our presence in the regions.
The Role:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual, fluent in English and Mandarin, to fill the role of Management Accountant. This newly created role is pivotal position and will provide comprehensive finance and accounting support to our team, customers, and stakeholders at Diamond Sports. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, optimizing financial performance, and driving business growth as we expand into Southeast Asia.
Duties:
- Compile and assess monthly management accounts, offering insights and suggestions to facilitate strategic decision-making.
- Establish and manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis procedures.
- Work closely with departmental leaders to guarantee precise and punctual financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cost structures and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation of business cases and investment proposals for new projects and initiatives.
- Produce detailed financial reports for both internal and external audiences.
- Aid in crafting financial presentations for board meetings and executive management.
- Recognize avenues for enhancing processes and efficiency within the finance department.
- Introduce optimal practices to streamline financial operations and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for enhancing manufacturing processes and efficiency within the finance department, leveraging manufacturing expertise to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Introduce optimal practices to streamline financial operations and reporting, integrating manufacturing best practices to enhance cost efficiency and operational performance.
- Other ad hoc duties as directed by the Director
We are looking for candidates who possess the following attributes:
- Strong communication and influencing skills and be both energetic and engaging with a strong commercial focus.
- Excellent business acumen with an understanding of profit management, business planning, delivering on performance and revenue targets and implementing clear strategies.
- Strong organisational and management skills.
- Excellent time management skills
- Proven capacity to meet deadlines and monthly deadlines.
- Experience and knowledge in trading and manufacturing are considered advantageous.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin/Cantonese.
- High level proficiency and have experience with MYOB accounting packages.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Have sound IT skills.
- At least Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field – plus studying towards CPA/CA/CMA.
- At least three years post-qualification work experience in similar role.
- Hold a current Victoria Drivers Licence.
