Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing financial guidance and support to the management team by preparing, analysing, and interpreting financial data and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Working across multiple entities and reporting into the Finance Manager, you will:
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, recording necessary journal entries for month-end processes.
Assist in preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, including monthly/quarterly BAS returns.
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, adhering to accounting standards and regulations.
Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts, analysing variances and providing recommendations for financial improvement.
Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including evaluating investment opportunities and capital allocation decisions.
Provide financial guidance and support to the management team, presenting information in a clear and concise manner to facilitate decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance, driving financial discipline and process improvement within operational teams.
Monitor KPIs to track business performance and drive accountability. Implement performance measurement frameworks.
Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects. Assist in evaluating investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.
Identify and mitigate financial risks. Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with policies.
Streamline financial processes for efficiency. Implement best practices to enhance reporting and analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role, preferably in a corporate environment. Public practice first movers will also be considered.
