As the Manager you will lead the Budget and Costing team to manage, develop and implement budget management and Cost modelling functions to support corporate Finance Division and business areas across the Queensland Police Service (QPS). Your part in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work including collaborating with internal stakeholders to support organisational change and key QPS projects and initiatives.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Manage the development and maintenance of the QPS operating and capital budgets, incorporating government and organisational decisions to support the delivery of strategic planning and budgeting for the organisation.
- Lead and implement business improvement initiatives to enhance budget management for the organisation.
- Coordinate the research of financial data, trend and variance analysis and forecasting insights to prepare financial performance reporting for the organisation.
- Ensure financial management services and initiatives are implemented with strong and genuine engagement of internal and external clients and key stakeholders.
- Manage the development and maintenance of cost models to provide accurate financial information to inform submissions in line with government legislation, policy and organisational objectives.
- Foster a working environment that encourages and empowers individual staff to seek challenges, develop skills and achieve results.

Qualification
- A tertiary qualification in finance or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
