- KEY MANAGERIAL ROLE

- Modern and spacious depot facility located in North Plympton
Reporting to the General Manager Natural and Built Environments, the Manager City Operations, will play a pivotal role in leading the Council's City Operations department.
You will be responsible for managing a high functioning team, ensuring the efficient delivery of essential services and current projects whilst setting a vision and strategy for the future and building a culture that will enable it to be realised.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, coordinating, and executing operational activities related to Civil Works and Services, Horticulture, Arboriculture and City Clean services.
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimise operational efficiency, productivity, and resource utilisation.
- Developing Policy and Strategy that will support and enable provision of great community and operational outcomes.
- Identifying opportunities for cross-organisational collaboration to achieve improved efficiencies and outcomes.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and standards, with a strong focus on workplace health and safety.
- Monitoring and analysing key performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of operational processes and identifying areas for improvement.
- Managing and responding to enquiries and requests from elected members in a timely and professional manner, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
- Preparing reports, budgets, and proposals to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
Qualifications and skills:
- Relevant Tertiary qualification.
- Proven experience in a managerial or senior supervisory role within local government.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members to achieve organisational goals.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including Elected Members.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and project management.
In addition, in accordance with the requirements of this role, a National Police Clearance (within six months of issue) and driver's licence will be required as part of the recruitment process.
