Company description:Department of Communities and JusticeJob description: 2x Ongoing opportunities (35 hrs. per week) Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available Clerk Grade 9/10 base salary, ($120,859 - $133,183), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role The role supports the Director, Legal Operations, and the Senior/Practice Managers to assist in the supervision and management of a sub team and stream of work. The role will focus on the provision of timely, consistent, and high-quality delivery of services including in relation to the use of technology and the analysis of data, knowledge management, financial reporting, human resources, project activities and general administrative and executive support services, with the aim of facilitating the smooth operation of DCJ Legal. What you'll do Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to drive projects and initiatives to facilitate the provision of quality, timely, efficient, and effective legal services and support organisational objectives. There are two ongoing roles at this level available, each required to meet all relevant capabilities set out in the role description, attached, for a Manager clerk grade 9/10, but each with a varied day to day focus as follows: 1. Manager, Analytics and Reporting: this role will focus on the delivery of budgeting and financial reporting accountabilities in order for DCJ Legal to achieve compliance with DCJ policies, statutory requirements and external regulators. Ideal candidates will have finance and budgeting experience as well as experience in business operations. 2. Manager, Information Technology: this role is a technology focused role within the Legal Operations team. The role will be required to consider strategies for the use of technology and digital innovation in DCJ Legal to improve operations and meet reporting standards and accountabilities via the utilisation of available resourcing. Ideal candidates will have experience in utilising technology and relevant software programs to deliver operational results. Candidates will be required to have experience with legal case management programs as well as an understanding of agile platforms and iterative development. You are also responsible for: Assisting in the management of a team in the utilisation of appropriate systems and processes to review, manage and improve the quality and consistency of financial information and consistent approach to financial management and reporting across DCJ Legal. Reviewing budget performance and provide complex analysis and reporting specific to DCJ Legal's participation in end-to-end financial planning for Legal, including budgeting, forecasting, costing, monitoring income/expenditure and reporting functions. Providing the Director, Legal Operations and the General Counsel and other key stakeholders advice, recommendations and detailed reports through data collection, preparation of analysis, advice and consultation. Manage the provision of general administration services and coordinate the DCJ Legal establishment, including staff movements, recruitment, training and induction, to ensure accurate, reliable human resources to support relevant management decision making. Act as the primary escalation point for internal DCJ Legal staff, concerning complex establishment issues. Drive the efficient and improved use of information management systems and resources across DCJ Legal. What we're looking for Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the interpretation and implementation of Accounting Standards, financial legislation together with sound knowledge and understanding of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, government policies, Treasurer's Directions and Guidelines. Experience supervising and mentoring staff, managing workloads and projects and allocating work. Experience in general business and executive operations including staff communications, training and induction. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
