We are currently seeking a Manager Communications and Community Engagement to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.
The role
The Manager, Communications and Community Engagement is an integral leadership position responsible for ensuring Council communicates and engages effectively with community, stakeholders and staff. With responsibility for strategic external and internal communications, brand and design, Community Engagement and civic events, the role has both an operational and strategic function to develop understanding and trust with our diverse community, staff and stakeholders and promote Brimbank as a great place to live, work and celebrate.
The role is a key contributor to the strategic, financial and cultural leadership of the organisation as part of a high performing Senior Leadership Team, living the values and modelling our culture.
To be considered you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in public relations, communications, journalism or extensive relevant leadership experience in multi-disciplinary teams is essential for this role.
- Demonstrated leadership to achieve high performance outcomes by guiding and inspiring, developing team capabilities and promoting collaboration
- Extensive experience in developing and evaluating innovative communications and Community Engagement strategies to deliver organisational priorities and objectives.
- Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to solve complex issues within a highly political environment.
- Ability to provide high quality trusted advice at a senior level in relation to communications and Community Engagement principles
- Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and maintain department and service plans and associated budgetary and financial management requirements
