A real endeavour, achieved with you
As Australia’s multi-disciplinary advisory and business partner of choice for clients in defence, government and infrastructure, we deliver complex things that matter. It's not always an easy task, but anything worthwhile seldom is. Great things are rarely accomplished alone. We’re building something remarkable. Now we just need you.
A real endeavour, shaped by you
As a Manager, your primary role will involve overseeing and managing one or more Defence engagements or components of large-scale projects. Additionally, you will actively contribute to the work on these engagements, using your expertise and knowledge to provide technical guidance and training to junior staff members.
In this position, you will play a vital part in the day-to-day management of the team and engagements. This includes coaching team members, offering constructive feedback, and supporting their professional growth. Moreover, you will have an increased emphasis on business development, where you will focus on building networks and fostering collaboration across the organization.
By promoting collaboration within DPS, both through engagements and internal networks, you will contribute to the overall success of the company.
To succeed in this endeavour, you will:
- Manage and execute multiple client engagements or components of larger engagements within established timelines and budgets while ensuring high-quality services are delivered.
- Provide input and justification for the initiation of engagements, and consistently define deliverables, objectives, constraints, and assumptions throughout the entire engagement lifecycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions that effectively meet client needs, making informed decisions as necessary.
- Possess a strong understanding of the commercial and contractual aspects of engagements, including managing fee proposals, overruns, and work above the budget.
- Take responsibility for managing and controlling engagement budgets, demonstrating effective cost control and expense management to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
- Show dedication to continuous improvement in delivering quality services to clients, offering value-added solutions to address client challenges.
- Employ innovative and creative techniques to propose and implement process improvements on client engagements.
A real endeavour, driven by you
Our work is highly complex and confidential, so there are some things you must have to fulfil this role:
- Significant experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional services firm or the Defence industry.
- A track record of successfully managing the execution of complex client engagements, including involvement in business development activities.
- Experience in people development and leadership, highlighting the ability to mentor and lead teams effectively.
- Relevant Degree qualifications
- Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal form.
- You must hold a current NV1 security clearance or higher.
More than anything, you’ll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a drive to manage critical projects and programs that build sovereign capability and deliver complex things that matter.
