Deanmore Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Manager Corporate Services for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.

We have a full-time vacancy to fill currently. We are looking to invite applications from those wanting to take the role either full time 1.0 FTE or as 0.5 FTE Finance Focus and 0.5 FTE Human Resource Focus.  Please indicate your preference in your cover letter (you may be interested in one or all of these options).

The role of the Manager Corporate Services (MCS) requires managing human resources to streamline the operational needs of the school. Working with the leadership team for upcoming ESAT. The successful applicant will ideally possess strong leadership, communication skills, both verbal and written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.  

The successful applicant will ideally be experienced in managing the day-to-day financial operations specific to a departmental school, maximise the staffing structure to best support the school's needs, business plan and vision. Other responsibilities will be to develop and implement effective strategies, policies and procedures to optimise Corporate Services functions and ensure smooth operations. The MCS manages and monitors budgetary and financial activities of the organisation, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and departmental guidelines.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

  • Leadership skills in the delivery of business outcomes and sound customer service principles and practices.
  • Well developed oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to use effective negotiation skills.
  • Sound financial management skills, including budget preparation and the ability to interpret and apply financial and accounting practices and procedures.
  • Sound human resource management skills, including the ability to develop and/or apply human resource management practices and systems.
  • Ability to provide input into the development, implementation and monitoring of business and marketing plans.
  • Sound conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.

Eligibility and training requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
