Your Opportunity
As the Manager, Education Services, you will be responsible for leading and managing the state-wide service delivery of the TAFE English Language and Literacy Service (TELLS)
- Drive the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Commerciality, Teamwork, Innovation and Accountability with particular emphasis on role modelling leadership behaviours.
- Lead and manage the Education Services team by:
- encouraging ongoing professional development opportunities cognisant of workforce development principles, creating and fostering an environment that encourages coaching and mentoring of others;
- identifying and delegating activities and priorities, setting team targets and performance measures and tracking and monitoring performance to ensure priorities are met; and
- supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of TELLS state wide educational programs to facilitate appropriate resourcing and availability of programs throughout the regions.
- Lead and manage the Educational Services team in the contractual compliance of state wide service delivery of educational programs to a diverse range of clients, ensuring the key performance indicators and targets throughout the State are met or exceeded.
- Build strong, constructive and collaborative working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including influencing other TAFE Queensland regions regarding the educational programs delivery, strategies and policies.
- Provide advice and leadership in the development of continuous educational service improvements; including creating and implementing strategies where necessary to ensure the resolution of occurring problems/issues in service delivery is attained.
- Engage with stakeholders to build relationships and foster the growth, development and promotion of quality client services to the community.
- Communicate in partnership with Community Liaison Officers across extensive internal and external networks and agencies, including Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse communities, to raise awareness of and access to TELLS programs.
- Support contemporary human resource management practices and the development of workforce capability in a client and commercially focused culture.
- Oversee report and tender preparation.
- Undertake other duties as directed.
This position reports directly to the Executive Director, TELLS.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities: * High level knowledge of adult education and training service delivery and strategies, including language, literacy and numeracy programs for a diverse range of clients.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership in managing state wide service delivery and support services for educational programs.
- High level leadership, planning and team management skills and the ability to set a clear vision and sense of direction in times of change and uncertainty; and a demonstrated commitment to the provision of outstanding client service.
- Proven experience in building and sustaining productive internal and external stakeholder relationships, and working collaboratively to foster a positive and cohesive work environment.
- High level communication, negotiation, influencing and listening skills in a culturally, linguistic and socially economic environment.
- There are no mandatory requirements for this position
- Tertiary qualifications in Education with significant experience in the adult education and training sector
- Experience in education and training team leadership and management
