We're looking for a strategic Employee Communications professional with a technology background. If you're proactive, calm under pressure in fast-paced environments, and above all else an excellent communicator and writer, we want to hear from you.
The Employee Communications & Events team supports the Optus business, working up, down and across the company's divisions. We communicate our business strategy and help our people understand the role they play in bringing it to life. And we get our people involved along the way - keeping them updated, encouraging them to provide feedback, and inspiring them to make a difference and feel good about working at Optus.
Your day in the life at Optus:
- Supporting the internal communications needs for one main business unit where you will communicate within the business unit as well as to the wider business, while managing some smaller communications activities and projects.
- Being a trusted advisor to an Executive Committee (ExCo) member, their senior leadership team and subject matter experts within the business unit.
- Communicating the Optus purpose, vision, and strategy to employees as well as supporting strategic initiatives and embedding the Optus behaviours.
- Working with teams across the business to develop plans and initiatives that support our business strategy and demonstrate how we're supporting our customers, communities, and each other. This includes working with People & Culture business partners to bring change to life and drive engagement.
- Creating compelling yet simple messaging that help our people understand why they're here and what we need them to do, supporting business and employee engagement objectives.
- Delivering outstanding communications across a range of channels and formats and support the delivery of key communications across events - while tracking their effectiveness.
- Tertiary qualification in communications or proven experience.
- Experience running integrated communications campaigns and providing communications advice and support to senior leaders.
- You will know the difference between communications strategy and tactics and have the experience in doing both.
- Ability to communicate and work comfortably with all levels of leadership.
- You have project and change comms experience and are able to balance multiple projects to tight deadlines.
- Competitive salary and performance incentives
- Discounts to Optus products and services, and to over 400 retailers Australia-wide
- Training, mentoring and development opportunities (ask us about Optus U!)
- Up to five days of Volunteer Leave per year
- A “connected” day each year for you to use to connect to something you are passionate about
- Hybrid ways of working
- Vibrant campus life, variety of facilities including restaurants, cafes, gymnasium, GP, and post office
- Sydney Campus: 20 mins from the CBD via our City Express bus. Our 999 Metro Connect service connects you to and from Macquarie University Metro Station to Optus Campus every 6-8 minutes, morning, and afternoon!
