About the role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) the primary purpose of the Manager Finance role is to provide leadership to the Finance team and manage the operational financial disciplines of Atlas Iron to ensure all accounting and reporting, treasury, taxation, payroll, and compliance requirements are met.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensure effective reporting and internal controls are maintained.
- Manage overall compliance processes within agreed timeframes and without any material audit matters.
- Provide functional ownership of Finance ERP system (S4Hana) to ensure supporting systems deliver effective financial management.
- Provide adhoc business analysis to support strategic decision making.
- Oversee the treasury process providing recommendations regarding cash management.
- Oversee the preparation of annual tax returns and preparation of tax-effect accounting and develop strategies to manage the business's tax affairs.
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure internal and external schedule timelines are met.
- Accountability for Procurement team and the development of procurement strategy across operations.
- Leading and developing a team of high performing professionals.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant academic qualifications with appropriate post graduate qualification (e.g. CA, CPA).
- Working knowledge of major ERP (preferably S4Hana), business intelligence and consolidation tools.
- Sound accounting and finance skills with 10+ years finance experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead budget and forecasting processes.
- Demonstrated excellent people leadership skills and commitment to growth and development of team members.
- Understanding and exposure in managing tax compliance obligations.
- Understanding of payroll processing, internal auditing mechanisms and compliance obligations.
- Demonstrated experience in corporate cash management.
- Mining or resources experience (preferred).
